Every year, YISS gives out awards to recognise athletes who demonstrate not only outstanding athletic ability in their respective sports, but also team spirit, and embodiment of school values in their sports lives. Four such awards are given per Varsity Sport:
MVP: The most valuable player on the team. This player contributes the most to the success of the team as a whole.
Coach’s Award: The player who is the floor leader of the team. This player leads by example with their attitude and play.
Guardian Award: The player who represents the school the best on and off the court/field. This player shows the most pride in their school and team.
Spirit Award: The player who best embodies the character of Christ on and off the court/field. This player is the spiritual leader of the team.
